Good morning Long COVID Support community,
As you may know, the Federal Health Minister has initiated a Parliamentary Inquiry into ‘Long COVID and Repeated COVID Infections,’ and we will be preparing a submission to the Inquiry. We’d love to hear your views, which we will reflect in the submission we are writing.
Specifically, we would be keen to hear your thoughts and insights on the following:
1. The patient experience in Australia of Long COVID and/or repeated COVID infections, particularly diagnosis and treatment (this is the first of the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference)
2. The health, social, educational and economic impacts in Australia on individuals who develop Long COVID and/or have repeated COVID infections, their families, and the broader community, including groups that face a greater risk of serious illness due to factors such as age, existing health conditions, disability and background
3. Anything else you want us to communicate!
More information about the Inquiry, including the full Terms of Reference, is here: https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/House/Health_Aged_Care_and_Sport/LongandrepeatedCOVID
If you would like to contribute - you are more than welcome to respond to this post or email us at longcovidsupport@hic.org.au
We look forward to your response and to your assistance in helping us advocate on behalf of those with lived experience of Long COVID!
Warmest,
Sally

Thanks for your support. I have emailed my comments. There is little acknowledgement of the debilitating effects of LC, and the need for support when you have to stay at home to manage symptoms. Also i'm told effects can include organ damage, hearts problems, etc and i don't know what to do about it and neither do others i've spoken to.
