Hi everyone,
I hope you are all feeling ok today. I got my second booster a week ago (Pfizer 4/5 bivalent) and have been feeling so much worse ever since- mostly with fatigue and brain fog. Before that I was feeling like the pacing, not working, low dose naltrexone etc, were starting to help me turn the corner 6 months in.
I know there's some debate about whether a booster is a good idea for us, but I've had it so it's too late for me to change that decision. My question is have others had the same experience of going backwards and how long did that last? Has anyone felt bad for a bit and then got back on track? In other words, is there any chance I'm going to feel better soon???... I know, the million dollar question!
Thanks,
Dan
Hi Dan,
I am sorry for the worsening symptoms and I hope you will get better soon. I searched for medical papers in relation to long covid and boosters. The results of a number of studies are inconclusive. Some see improvement while other worsening of the related symptoms. After a few weeks most people feel no change to their baseline.
I got my booster Moderna B4/5 in Monday and I did feel worse for 2-3 days. I am getting better. After consultation with my GP I started taking anti platelet medication Clopidogrel based on some successful trials and a hypothesis that the long covid symptoms are related to micro clots in our blood. As I started the medication a few days before I didn’t know what was causing worsening of my symptoms.
All the best
Alan
Yes, lot of symptoms returned for a short while after a booster. I think it took about a week, maybe 2 weeks to get back to baseline.
I decided to get it because the risk of worsening with an infection is much higher.
Hope you improve soon.
